Are unhealthy foods really that unhealthy?

World Food Day 2019: encouraging healthy diets for a #zerohunger ...50 unhealthy foods that are harmful to the body - Doers Empire

VS

It's ok to eat foods that are not great for health and wellbeing, but just not
too often.

Foods like Biscuits, Fast foods and Sweets are ok to eat in moderation.
These foods are deemed unhealthy but it's ok to have a little treat once
in a while to satisfy your cravings.

The foods referred to as unhealthy foods are often deep fried, full of sugar,
salt, fats and carbs meaning they contain high amounts of fats, oils,
sodium and sugar and when not eaten in moderation become unhealthy.
These foods don't often contain the vitamins and minerals you need for
your bodies to function properly throughout the day. Unhealthy foods can
cause obesity, malnutrition, heart disease, depression, cancer and early
death. They can affect your physical and mental health.

In today's busy world, people often eat quickly and in a hurry. However,
your brain needs time to process signals of fullness. It may take up to
20 minutes for your brain to realize that you're full. When you eat fast,
it's much easier to eat a lot more food than your body really needs.

Often people drink Teas or Coffee because they need a quick

preservatives, this means that water.Water carries nutrients
to all cells in our body and oxygen to our brain.

vitamins, amino acids, glucose and other substances.
Water flushes out toxins and waste.
The Institute of Medicine says children and teenagers should
consume 1.7 to 3.3 liters a day, depending on age, size and
sex. Adolescent boys generally need to drink more water

Influences on what you eat

Influences on what you eat
There are many things that can impact the way you eat. Things like Societal influences, family/Whanau, Peers and Personal influences can all affect your eating habits.

Factors to include are:
  • Societal - Societal Influences are things that can change your behavior  or behavior to others intentionally or unintentionally, as a result of the way the changed person perceives themselves in relationship to the influencer, other people and society in general.

  • Family/whanau - Family/Whanau are people that are related to you and how they influence what you eat.  Family can positively and negatively influence your diet. Family is counted as an interpersonal relationship. Families with home cooked and healthy meal are more likely to be more physically active and have a better outlook because they are eating the right foods

  • Peers - Your peers are your friends or people outside of your family. Peers can influence your eating habits either positively or negatively. Some young people feel like they have to eat less to fit in or eat foods that everyone else is eating, but often this can cause an unhealthy outlook and stop them from getting the right range of  nutrients. This is not always the case though sometimes your peers can help change your diet from being unhealthy to healthy because of their influence.

  • Personal - Personal Influences are what you do that influences what you put into your body. You choose what you put into your body. You choose whether you are putting healthy or unhealthy foods into your body. If you are ingesting unhealthy foods regularly like take outs it can negatively impact your health. Whereas if you eat healthily you can get the right nutrients, vitamins and minerals to help your body function properly.

Technological Practice Assignment

I have made a prototype jersey and now I am onto the next stage of my Technological Practice. I am now onto starting my final design. We went through a series of steps to achieve this. We used design booklets to make designs for our Sweatshirts.

We also made a design on google drawings by tracing the outline of a hoodie and then filling in the lines and then adding other designs onto it such as flowers or names.
